KRESTIN, LAZAR (1868–1938), Austrian painter. Born in Kovno, Krestin studied in Vienna and Munich. He specialized in landscape paintings, reflecting the style of the great French impressionists. His work also contains many portraits and genre scenes of East European Jewish life. His subjects were similar to those of isidor kaufmann , but Krestin did not attain a similar level of success.
